Stevie Peterson, Director

Stevie Peterson grew up in Pocatello, Idaho she began to find her passion for dance in high school. As a dedicated member of the Indianettes Drill Team, she quickly realized her love for dance and enrolled in studio classes as well. She chose to attend Montana State University to be a Bobcat Dancer, and immediately found Bozeman to be an amazing community. After a few years of dance hiatus, she auditioned for the very first IndepenDANCE production.  She went on to join the production committee in its second year, and then choreographing for the production in its fourth year.  The IndepenDANCE Project has been extremely inspiring to her, and has given her countless friends, numerous luminaries, and wonderful community connections.  She is constantly reminded of the valuable resource IndepenDANCE has provided our community, and is extremely thankful that she has been a part of such a talented and wonderful group of people from the very beginning!

Erin Levy

Erin started training with Dulce Anaya, student of Alicia & Alberto Alonso, in Jacksonville, Florida.  Starting in 1992,  her summers were spent training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) with Marcia Dale Weary and staff in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for their 5 week summer intensives. Her Junior year of high school, training continued at Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in their 4 year pre-pro program, while continuing the summer program at CPYB. She danced with Eglevsky Ballet & Blue Muse Dance Project (Semi-Pro NY dance companies), as well as taking class from various well known teachers, at Steps on Broadway through their work study program. She has an Associates Degree in Jewelry Design from FIT in New York and a BFA in Metalsmithing with a Minor in Small Business/Entrepreneurship from Montana State. Another talented production committee member, Erin currently teaches Ballet at Bozeman Dance Academy and is the manager of Riddle's Jewelry of Bozeman.

Rachel Dunn

Rachel started dancing at the age of five and has loved it ever since! She has had the pleasure of participating in IndepenDANCE for the last three years and this year is excited to be more involved as a new member of the production committee.  A woman of many talents, Rachel is a 5th grade teacher in Belgrade and as well as a cosmetologist on the side. She can't wait to see what this year's IndepenDANCE brings!!

Lottie Rhyner

Lottie has been dancing passionately since she was 13. She was a member of the Montana Ballet Company from 2010-2013, dancing such roles as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Rat Queen in the Nutcracker, and the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty.  She has continued her love for dancing by participating in IndepenDANCE as a dancer for the past several years. She is currently an English teacher at Bozeman High School and is looking forward to her new role as a committee member this year.

Madeline Barth

Madeline Barth has been dancing since the age of four.  In her junior high and high school years she was a member of the Tucson Regional Ballet Company with whom she performed locally as well as regionally. Upon high school graduation Madeline relocated to Southern California to pursue a career in dance. While studying dance at California State University Long Beach, Madeline worked as a dancer/performer at Disneyland. During her 6-year employment with the company she performed in various shows, parades, commercials, and TV specials. After graduating college, Madeline relocated to West Yellowstone, Montana and started a dance program for dancers ages 3-adult.  She taught about 8 dance classes a week of various styles and her dancers performed locally as well as traveled to Bozeman to perform. Madeline has since moved permanently to Bozeman and has been a member of IndepenDance since 2013.  When she is not dancing, Madeline teaches 5th grade and loves spending time with her husband and daughter.

Kelly Beiswanger, Officer

Kelly Beiswanger grew up dancing in Kendallville, a small town in northeast Indiana, performing locally and participating in regional and national dance competitions throughout high school. She later returned to her hometown studio to teach for a short time. Upon moving to Bozeman in 2012, Kelly was thrilled to find IndepenDANCE! She loves the feeling of family that comes along with being a part of the dance community and is so glad to be performing, creating, and sharing movement.

Elle Winchester, Officer

Elle Winchester started her dance career at the age of 3 with Morita's School of Dance in the small town of Hermon, Maine. Over her nearly 20 years studying at Morita's, Elle was fortunate to participate in many competitions, workshops, and performances all over the country meeting an array of wonderful teachers and fellow dancers.  She continued to pursue her passion for dance into her collegiate years as a member of the University of Maine Dance Team in 2005-2006 as well as a member of the Montana State University Spirit Squad from 2007-2009!  In addition to performing, she has also spent time partnering with the Bozeman School District and Livingston Recreation Department creating and directing several youth programs and performances during her time in Montana.  Currently Elle works as a fundraising professional for Yellowstone National Park, and is so proud and thankful to be a part of a community that supports the arts, and especially IndepenDANCE, which brings such a unique performance opportunity for adult dancers to our community! ​​

Megan Bittinger

Megan is a true Bozeman native! She began dancing when she was 5 years old; at the same time she also took gymnastics classes. Because of her family's busy schedule (3 daughters all participating in after school activities), Megan had to choose between dance and gymnastics a few years later. Megan started out taking ballet classes, but quickly added jazz and then hip hop to her repertoire. After taking a break from dance to focus on tennis her junior and senior year of high school, Megan returned to the studio in 2008 and began performing in studio recitals. In 2010, Megan participated in her first IndepenDANCE and she was hooked! Since her first IndepenDANCE, Megan has danced in the show every year and in 2015, she joined the committee where her favorite annual project has been the Wild Joe's Window display.

Deann Snyder

Deann was born and raised in Missoula, MT. She began ballet lessons when she was 8 years old at Virginia Wirth Dance Studio and later danced at Ballet Arts Academy with Michelle Antonioli and Pam Copley. After spending ages 9 through 18 performing in Missoula’s production of The Nutcracker and anything else she could dance in, she moved to Bozeman in 2006 to pursue her degree in Microbiology. A brief stint on the MSU Dance Team re-inspired her to begin dancing at a studio again in the fall of 2009. She has been dancing at the Bozeman Dance Academy (formerly Main Street Dance Theatre) ever since, enjoying ballet, jazz and lyrical classes as well as teaching ballet starting in the fall of 2014. Deann has been a dedicated production committee member for the past four years, and is entering her 6th year performing with IndepenDANCE.

​Pancasatya “Tiok” Agastra

Tiok was born in the archipelagic Indonesia, raised in Indonesia and the US, exposed to the cultural diversity in Indonesia, I have always loved dancing.  It was not until 2015 that I have found my tribe here in Bozeman, Montana, namely IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project.  IndepenDANCE has unleashed my passion for dancing and it has been an honor to serve as the committee member.  Viva Indy!
