The IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project inspires, unites, and nurtures dancers and choreographers while celebrating diversity and creativity through movement.
Since 2009, IndepenDANCE volunteers, 100+ dancers, and 20+ choreographers have collaborated to put on an annual showcase, providing an outlet for artistic expression and entertainment for the Bozeman community to enjoy
Core Values
At IndepenDANCE, we strive to provide an inclusive and safe environment for choreographers, dancers, staff, and audience members of all backgrounds and abilities. We welcome all to participate in our programs. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we condemn racism, discrimination, and harassment of any kind.
It is a priority of IndepenDANCE to cultivate a showcase with diverse performances to honor dance styles from various cultures. We recognize that there is a significant difference between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation and the IndepenDANCE Board of Directors is committed to ensuring that our choreographers and dancers understand this distinction. We strive to ensure that dance styles are represented respectfully and in a manner that honors their origins.
